Where it all began

Qantas airlines has a reputation for excellent service, as well as an enviable and unparalleled safety record. The airline was founded in the Queensland outback in 1920. The unique name Qantas (often misspelled as 'Quantas') is an acronym of its former name - Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited (QANTAS).

The Qantas fleet totals 194 aircraft and includes, six new Boeing 747-400ER aircraft, four new Airbus 330-200 , three Airbus 330-300 aircraft and twenty three new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
